Banneville Sannerville

This British Cemetery is like a secret garden, hidden from the busy road by a twisting path. The 2175 Service Men at rest here mostly died during the second week of July 1944. This was during the battles around Caen and the operation called Goodwood. Casualties from the later battle of the Falaise Gap and the German withdrawal from Normandy at the end of August are also at rest here.

2150 British fallen lie here together with 11 Canadian, 5 Australian 2 New Zealander and two unknown
