The little village of Denneville was the scene of the last battle for Normandy before the fall o0f Cherbourg on June 18th 1940. Each year the village pays homage to the eight soldiers from the Royal Artillery Regiment who lost their lives here. Firstly at the monument at the old railway station and then in the local cemetery where the soldiers are buried.
