Port Bail Liberation Ball

Whilst the area to the east and north of Port Bail was liberated on June 18th the town of Port Bail and those to the south had to wait until the Americans had liberated Cherbourg and headed south. This meant that the town was not freed from German occupation until the 17th of July 1944.

This year the liberation was celebrated with a dance in the town square with many locals turning out in period dress.
